A recent survey has revealed that around 98% of Africans are already well aware that the end of December contains a fairly important Christian festival.
The news is hardly surprising, given that around half of the continent’s inhabitants are Christians. So if every African Christian has each told one other person about Christmas it’s a fairly safe bet that pretty much everyone knows by now.
It has been suggested that there are more serious questions to be answered now that the ‘Do they know it’s Christmas?’ issue has been resolved. For example, “Why does Jesus keep sending Africa horrible diseases, criminal trade agreements, Bob Geldof records and a sleigh full of condescension every sodding Christmas?”
