Screen stolen from Southport’s new open air cinema

southport cinemaSouthport’s latest entertainment destination, a beachside open air cinema, suffered a ‘devastating’ blow today, as thieves made off with the screen before the first film could be shown.

Geoff Rimmer, owner of the new cinematic venture, told us he was, “Incredibly disappointed.”

“With it’s lush, green surroundings, fresh sea air and a well-appointed seating capacity of one, this new cinema could have been a real boon for the town.”

Merseyside Police have assured us that enquiries are ongoing. Mr Rimmer has offered a reward of a quarter of pick n mix for any information leading to the recovery of the screen.
