It is a little known fact that Angus Young, one of the founders of the Australian rock band AC/DC, has been buying his school shorts from Rawcliffes in Southport since 1977.
Now, however, the popular school clothing store has closed its doors and Young has been forced to consider wearing big boy pants for the first time ever.
Apparently, another schoolwear shop has opened on the corner of Houghton St and London St, but this doesn’t interest Young at all.
“There was a particular style of pleated velvet shorts with elasticated waistband and extra deep pockets that I just can’t find anywhere else.” Young told us today. “So bollocks to it. I’ll just wear jeans like every other boring bastard rock star out there.”
We are sure the people of Southport will be saddened at the news that yet another rock legend has been alienated by the town. This will probably go down in local history, along with the infamous Justin Bieber Funland incident.
