Taylor Swift barred from Southport Home Bargains

Southport’s Kew branch of Home Bargains has allegedly issued a lifetime ban to global pop sensation Taylor Swift, following what staff described as an “unnecessarily dramatic” incident in the household cleaning aisle last Thursday.

Swift, who was in the UK as part of her much-hyped Eras Tour, reportedly entered the Meols Cop store flanked by personal assistants, bodyguards, a spiritual advisor, her nutritionist and an “emotional support cockapoo” wearing a miniature Barbour jacket.

“She seemed agitated from the moment she came in,” said Sandra Rimmer, the shop’s assistant manager, who asked to remain anonymous.

“Then, when one of our colleagues told her she couldn’t get Glade plugin air fresheners and AirWick ones on the same 3-for-2 mix-and-match deal, she just started going mental. She kicked over a beautiful display of Bachelors Super Noodles, I’d spent all morning on.”

Staff had reportedly been willing to overlook the noodle-related outburst, but say Swift crossed a line when she attempted to scan a dozen Yankee Candles (£9.95 each) through the self-checkout as carrots (28p/lb). She was ejected from the store on the spot.

Legal representatives for Swift have denied all allegations, though insiders suggest she will be exploring “alternative discount retailers such as B&M Bargains or Poundstretcher” next time she visits Southport.

Swift has also denied that her upcoming single, “I Knew You Were Budget (When I Walked In),” refers to this incident in any way.
