Satire at its best is not only amusing, it is also educational. It occasionally causes visceral instantaneous reactions to the topic at hand before the brain has had chance to register what is actual being said. In this regard it can cause one to become aware of, recognise and deal with heretofore buried attitudes and prejudices.
Satire at its worst is like The Southport Times.
We just make up daft stories based largely upon silly puns and a ridiculously juvenile imagination.
