New Aldi now Southport’s highest rated tourist attraction on TripAdvisor

Narrowly beating off competition from our glorious green beaches and the excellent push bike and shopping trolley museum in the Marine Lake, the new Aldi on Liverpool Road in Birkdale has quickly established itself as Southport’s most exciting destination for tourists.

With an impressive overall score of 6.1 out of 10 on TripAdvisor, reviewers heaped praise on the overflowing pallets of knock-off brands, baskets of cheap but cryptic tools and strange smelling foreign meat boasted by the new German store.

The news will be seen as vindication by Sefton Council, who decided that bulldozing twenty odd small businesses was a small price to pay for another big shop.

We would like to take this opportunity to offer our condolences to the family and friends of Mrs T Rimmer of Eastbourne Road, Southport, who tragically passed away after spending three days sat up the drive in her Fiat Punto deciding whether the Aldi at Birkdale or Meols Cop would be cheaper.
